Those of you that know me really well probably know that it takes a lot for me to get bent out of shape. I mean, it really takes a lot for me to have a bad day. I don't know why, but today was one of those days. I was right pissed off driving to school, and it was for no reason. Now, when I got to school and found out that we suddenly owe another $800 for the next two months of placements? I felt like I shouldn't have been around other people. And then I had to go sit in my doctor's office (no nasty comments from you, Tracey!) for 1.5 hours to find out that my post-pregnancy-now-breastfeeding hormones are taking a nasty (and itchy!) toll on my already tired body!
I cannot tell you how excited I am to be so close to being done school - I mean, I almost get giddy at the thought of not having to sit in a classroom or write papers about leadership! I am looking forward to July and August as I will be in my last two placements: In July I will be at the Royal Alex in the maternity ward, and in August I am on a gynecology surgical unit. I'm telling you - I am going to be a va-jay-jay superstar at the end of the summer!
Another little tidbit of excitement around here is our new camera:
This was my birthday gift to Sal this year (but I am not-so-secretly enjoying it too!) It is so nice having a beautiful camera that takes beautiful pictures again. I promise I will not get caught in the rain again!! It takes such great photos of the little one which makes it worth the extra cost!
So while I bitch and moan about being in school all day, sitting in doctors offices, reading horribly boring textbooks, it's this little one that makes it all worth it. It is for her that I am embarking on this new career - kind of makes me want to do my best to provide the best life for her that I can!
Hailey's first time having vegetables...I think she liked the sweet potatos?!
Anyway, I hope you had a better day than me! c.
p.s. Tracey - you can just do an internet search for 'blogger templates'. I found this one for you: SCRAPPY!
Ah! Angel...most of the time. Almost 18 pounds now...had her 6 month vaccinations today, and she cried until the nurse rang a little bell, and it was like magic. Little H just stared at that bell like it was food!
Sal went out and found these ridiculous goggle/sunglasses for little H to wear. I am pretty sure that this has been the only time she has worn them. I tried them on yesterday and they were so tight against my head that I couldn't even open my eyes - Sal couldn't even get the strap done up on his head!
Yes, believe it or not, here I am posting on blogger!
You may have noticed some new features, especially the new layout. I like it, but am still trying to find the perfect one. I can't believe Tracey's new blogs! You are a machine, my friend!
Now I know I have said MANY times in the past that "I am going to start writing again!", but this time I am actually going to try and keep up. Especially since we are all so busy with work, school, kids (yeah, crazy, I know!). Now we can sort of keep up with each other! So let me know how you are doing, and I will let you know how I am. Here is a quick update: -I am going to be done school at the end of August - yes, completely finished, and I can't wait to start making some money. We are sick of being a single income family! -little H is 6 months old already - I will post some pics when I get around to it. -Sal is still working for the city, and enjoying it (most of the time...) -we were just in Moose Jaw visiting my grandma (yep - slapping grandma!) who broke her hip and had to have surgery. she is recovering well, but it will be a long process!
ummm...I think that's it for now. If I forget to write here soon, please remind me!
by now...according to my usual tradition...i usually have all my christmas decorations up! sigh...this year delayed. with exams, jobs, and so much more i got sidetracked from my usual christmas festivity!
(yesterday, however) we bought something i am extremely excited about: a real christmas tree!! i am in love with this tree. it is small but beautiful and smells like christmas!!!...(ahhh i am such a mush about this holiday) my other tree you ask??? well my artificial one looks a little sad sitting by it and i feel a bit of a charlie brown syndrome going on...i really don't know what to do with it...we shall see...any suggestions?
so that is my day today...i am going to decorate the tree and spread christmas joy in this apartment :)
ahhh remember varsity blues? the movie was probably (or is) incredibly lame but i enjoyed it so much and still do apparently. it was on last night, completing date night for me and mark. i was actually surprised that he wanted to watch it, and even kind of picked it to watch...ahhh fabulous.
it was actually a fab night. we splurged and bought panago pizza (my second weekend and a row of pizza...ugh hibernating food). we played monopoly where i lost horribly, and played four rounds of harry potter uno, that i lost horribly again...and then a movie. simple but good fun!
enough of my evening...
What do you like doing, when staying inside for the night?
so i realize that i may be the only one (besides case) that wants to write and read on this blog...that is okay...i had fun adding some additions to it! :) tee hee
so i am sitting here at the computer contemplating canceling my run today as it seems pretty windy out. unfortunately it will probably be one of the few nice days left before it gets really cold, so i just can't decide. sigh...should i or shouldn't i? a question i would normally pose for facebook but am slightly getting sick of that site. i was pretty close to deactivating my account today...i just kept thinking that i want to keep up with family and maybe vice versa. but i really do want a break. it will happen i just can't decide when! :)
went to cosmos with my parents and mark last night. i totally remember going to that exact restaurant in second or third year university at around this time of year for warren's birthday. so funny that now i am in school once again. we also saw the movie the informant. it was "good" but kind of weird...and really not what i was expecting at all. go into the movie knowing that it is based on true events, i think that makes a difference. we also saw a trailer in the movie called the blind side...seriously i was practically crying at the five minute preview...looks so good! :)
not much else to say for today. i am going to do a bunch of errands and celebrate some bdays.
Wow, it sure has been a long time. And I was such a dork - who would want to read about what I do in a day anyway?
So things have been good - I'm pretty sure all of you know what I have been up to! Besides school starting up again and getting myself knocked up, Sal and I (well, actually just Sal) have been doing some major renos to the house. The kitchen floor has been redone, the front living room has been rehauled and repainted, and the main floor bathroom currently holds just the bathtub. No walls, no sink, no floor, and no toilet. Sal is sitting beside me as we speak looking up electricians to come in and take a look at the wiring, but other than that he is ready to get going on it! P.S. IF ANYONE KNOWS AN ELECTRICIAN PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
We also found out on Wednesday that we are having a little girl in December, and we could not be happier. Sal is already talking about all of the playdates he is going to have with her and about all of the stuff he is going to be making. So cute...
Trace, I'm glad you wanted to get going on this again - I think it will be fun.
so i had been thinking for a long time of bringing back the blog. i missed it (sigh). as much as i love the gossip of the facebook world, i enjoyed how we shared in our thoughts, events, and feelings of our day to day existence. a sentence just cannot sum everything up all the time! i cannot believe how long it has been since one of us has written on here. i think it was around the time that facebook came crashing into our lives. well i have had enough...i want our blog back! :) especially after reading some of the things that we posted on here. we are all so darn cute!
so this is the first official blog of our coming out!! yeah!!!
so since 2007, i have gone back to school (AGAIN). i live in edmonton. i live with a boy. i have a cat (partial owner). i have a car (my second one). i have gone backpacking in the mountains (numerous times with said boy). i have dyed my hair dark. i have started running again, got injured, and have ran some more. and i still have my fantabulous friends (with some new ones that are just as fantabulous).
i think that is me in a nutshell...what is new with you?
well, well, well... My, it has been a long time! I actually don't really know why I stopped writing on here - the combination of starting a new job, becoming consumed by on-line fabric shopping, and the devil that is facebook. So for all of that I apoloize! Things around my world have been relatively uneventful. Work takes up lots of my time in the afternoons and evenings, and in the space between I've been busy studying and writing exams for a Human Anatomy course.
Here is an example of a typical day in the life of Casey: 9:30am - wake up and scrape the sleep out of my eyes 10:00am - make coffee with the beautiful ground I just bought from the Italian Center and bust out the laptop to start doing some labelling exercises 10:30am - have my first cup o' joe with a bowl of Raisin Bran cereal 11:00am - turn on BRAVO and watch Law & Order (yes, I can still recite the opening monologue) 12:00pm - stay tuned for Without A Trace 12:00pm-1:00pm - between commercials have a shower, eat lunch, and get dressed 12:59pm - leave for work. 1:00pm-9:00pm - I'm feeding the needy, emotionally and physically!
Hope all is well with y'all - I'll try and keep posted!! Casey
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have started my own crafting blog over at www.urbancraftgirlz.blogspot.com and hopefully Casey will be joining me in sharing some of her craftiness (and add a link to this blog's sidebar)!
Sorry for the lack of posts, especially to Loy, Jane and Grandma R who have expressed their disapproval! We will try to post more regularly but the problem is we are all addicted to www.facebook.com.
Sigh, I suppose it is up to me to post on here due to the utter lack of posts lately.
Here is what we are doing this weekend:
Tracey: Going on a Ski Trip - I am jealous
Casey: Lazing around her parents house in Sherwood Park babysitting Buddy the dog, Some Sewing and a Bikini Wax
Jeaninne: Shopping with my Mom, Sewing my new cushions for my sofa, repainting some thrifted night tables to be new side tables in the living room and enjoying Easter + a 4 day weekend.
yayy...it's friday and I couldn't be happier (or hungrier...it's lunch time alreday too!) saw this idea on a website and thought it would be kind of fun. so this is what you do: -take your ipod/music player/whatever... -go to shuffle songs, and write down what the first 10 songs that play - now be honest and don't skip any because you think they're embarassing. here are mine:
1. Jump by the Pointer Sisters 2. Elevator Love Letter by Stars 3. Over and Over Again by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah 4. Proud Mary by Ike and Tina Turner 5. SexyBack by JT 6. Creep by Radiohead 7. Another Lonely Day by Ben Harper 8. Good Vibrations by Marky Mark (that must have been in honour of Lynette!) 9. Honkey Tonk Woman by the Rolling Stones 10. Return to Paradise by Shirley Horn
OK - that wasn't as bad as it could have been as I have some really bad songs! Have a great weekend! ~casey.
so i know it has been awhile since i have written on this lovely thing so here is the scoop:
i am officially addicted to facebook. i have a love/hate relationship with it but it is oddly fun. i now understand the whole myspace thing now.
went to christina aguilera last week. fantastic singer/show but have never felt so old in my life, ugh. the best was jeaninne wondering why all the cell phones were in the air (in my day they used lighters). i think i am finally done with that scene (mainstream singers, i mean) i will stick with more rock artists or a bit more low key venues.
i have officially applied for school...again...but this time it is done, finito, i am not going to think about it, it is out of sight until the results come back and even then i cannot do anything about the results so i will not think about it
work is the same ol' having fun...i recently started a baking like club at work to get some of my clients involved. today we made marshmellow cookies...not a fan...i don't think cookies and marshmellows mix...
and finally i have a new obsession, chocolate peanut butter with graham crackers. yumm...so disgusting yet so good at the same time
ooo commercial is over...must go watch greys...might go skiing easter long weekend (crossing my fingers)...have a good weekend and enjoy the marvelous weather!
I love wednesdays for a number of reasons...it means I get to sew all night without guilt. It means there's only two more days until the weekend. It means I get to hate LOST all over again. In honour of this particular wednesday, enjoy the new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm going to have to watch the second one again because I hardly remember it!
